Certification Exam
To be eligible to take the certification exam, you must complete all courses in the basic, intermediate, and advanced levels of your chosen specialization and obtain the recognition badge for each level achieved.
No, each certification exam is tailored to its specialization, though they may share some parts in common.
The certification exam seeks to assess the student’s knowledge across various aspects of their chosen specialization, while ensuring the integrity and reliability of their answers.
Therefore, the certification exam is automated and monitored by Proctorio, a remote proctoring system. The purpose of this system is to safeguard three conditions that must be met in order for the evaluation to be valid:
- Clear and accurate identification of the person taking the exam. The remote proctoring system will verify each candidate’s personal identification, and, for the duration of the exam, it will also attempt to confirm that whoever is answering the questions is who they said they were.
- Integrity of the evaluation, taking every measure necessary to keep the content of the evaluation from being copied or distributed.
- Authenticity of the replies, making sure that the person taking the evaluation does not have extra help when answering the questions.
To avoid unintentional issues during the evaluation, it is essential for students to understand the importance of the process and how the remote proctoring system works. Therefore, before beginning the evaluation, a video will be provided detailing the expected behavior so that the remote proctoring system can guarantee the three conditions above.
The exam has a duration of 90 minutes. Once this time has elapsed, the exam will automatically close, and the replies provided up to that point will be submitted.
You will not be able to view your score until the review of the report generated by the Proctorio system is complete. This process can take up to a week. Your evaluation results will be sent to the email address you used to register for the exam.
If you registered for the exam but did not log in to the LACNIC Campus to take it, the registration will have no effect. You can register again for a future edition.
The score required to pass the exam is equivalent to 70% of the total questions. Keep in mind that, in order to pass the exam, in addition to achieving the required score, you must also receive a positive integrity report from Proctorio.
You may take the certification exam once a year.
If you fail the exam, you can retake it the following year.
Important Note: If disqualification is due to issues with the integrity of the exam and/or the authenticity of your answers, you will not be able to take the exam the following year.
