Target Audience

This course is aimed at individuals working with Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and involved in cybercrime investigation activities.

 

Course Objectives
  • To understand basic guidelines for obtaining information related to Internet resources.
  • To explain their interrelation due to the use of different protocols.
  • To learn about the organizations related to Internet resources.
  • To provide tools that can be used to query public records about the various Internet resources.

 

 

Prior Knowledge

Participants are recommended to have at least three months of experience in digital investigations, as well as basic knowledge of cybersecurity.

Methodology
  • Students will progress through several modules independently, with access to audiovisual and reading material. Each module also includes optional self-evaluation quizzes to help students monitor their progress.
  • The estimated course workload is approximately 20 hours, distributed as 5 hours a week.
  • After completing the course, students must take and pass a mandatory final exam in order to receive their LACNIC Campus diploma.

Module 2: Organizations that manage Internet resources

Module 3: Tools for querying information about Internet resources

Module 4: Relationship between Internet resources, available data, and the most common protocols
