Specializations
What are the specializations offered by the LACNIC Campus?
Specializations are training tracks organized by level and designed to cover a set of courses on the LACNIC Campus so that students can obtain a certification in three specialties related to network operation.
The purpose of this training program is to offer applied technical training based on the courses that are available through the LACNIC Campus. The program is organized in three levels —basic, intermediate, and advanced— and provides the opportunity to obtain a certification endorsed by LACNIC.
The three available levels will allow each student to study the different topics in the order of their choosing and to complete the basic, intermediate, and advanced levels in their own time and following the activities in the order that best suits them.
LACNIC Campus specializations provide a training and knowledge program designed to promote the professional development of LACNIC members and other members of the Latin American and Caribbean community.
Technical specializations will be implemented in two stages:
Starting in 2022, the Campus will offer the following courses for students to work towards each specialization:
ISP Network Operation:- Basic level (all courses)
- Intermediate level (all courses)
- Advanced level (IPv6 in Last-Mile and Access Networks)
- Basic level (all courses)
- Intermediate level (DNS Fundamentals, Modern Configuration and Installation)
- Basic level (all courses)
- Intermediate level (BGP Basics and Introduction to RPKI; DNS Fundamentals, Modern Configuration and Installation)
*It should be noted that students who passed the valid and updated versions of these courses prior to 2022 can also complete the specialization program. Students who completed a version of a course that is not included on the published list may not validate the course and will therefore have to complete the current version of the course or take the final exam corresponding to this latest version.
Beginning in 2023
Information on the various courses and levels will be provided as they become available.
